(Natalia Terfa) We don’t often spend a lot of time in the book of Revelation. Honestly, it scares a lot of people thanks to things like the Left Behind series or any artistic rendering of the end times. But what if there is more within this book to offer hope rather than scare us?

Say My Name
Monday May 09, 2022
Monday May 09, 2022
(Chad Brekke) People still choose bible names like Mary or David or Ruth, Mathew, Mark, or Luke. Lots of great contemporary names originate from the scriptures. But you rarely hear anyone choose the name Dorcas these days. Let’s spend some time with this pioneer in the faith. Maybe the name Dorcas should go back on the list!

Everything Has Changed
Monday May 02, 2022
Monday May 02, 2022
(Natalia Terfa) Today’s Gospel finds the disciples sitting in the in-between. They try to go back to the way things used to be and discover that it doesn’t quite fit the way they thought it would. What now? They wonder. Turns out, that everything has changed.

(Chad Brekke & Natalia Terfa) As we do from time to time, we put the usual preaching schedule on hold while we explore public theology together. We will again field questions from the congregation around the theme of things that cause us to doubt or to question.

Read All About It (Easter Sunday)
Tuesday Apr 19, 2022
Tuesday Apr 19, 2022
(Chad Brekke) If Luke’s telling of the resurrection was a front-page story in a current newspaper, what would the headline be? In an age of skepticism, conspiracies, fake news, and suspicion of organizations, what chance does the church have of sharing the Good News? Well, it’s Easter again, let’s read all about it.

(Chad Brekke) Continuing with our tradition of settling in on Palm Sunday to listen to a live reading of the entire passion of Christ. Somehow, we always hear something new, something that transforms our current time and draws us in.

Sideways Grief and Smells You Can’t Ignore
Monday Apr 04, 2022
Monday Apr 04, 2022
(Natalia Terfa) Mary’s act of anointing made the disciples uncomfortable. It was a smell that had connotations the disciples were not ready to face or deal with. At this moment they did what so many of us do without realizing we are doing it - they found something else to get mad about. How wasteful. How sinful. Tell her to go away. Jesus’ response “leave her alone” reminds us that we cannot and should not ignore or be afraid of the death that is coming, no matter how uncomfortable it makes us.

Thursday Mar 31, 2022
Thursday Mar 31, 2022
(Brent Haglund) Tonight we hear David being called out by Nathan for some PG-13+ behavior which happens quite often in our society, this reminds me of our good friend Joe Davis and how he says we should be calling in instead of calling out, what does the bible have to say about this?

The Company You Keep
Monday Mar 28, 2022
Monday Mar 28, 2022
(Chad Brekke) If you start typing “you are known” into your google search window, the internet gods will complete the sentence for you with “by the company you keep.” Go ahead, give it a try. You are known by the company you keep. This is an adage that keeps parents awake at night and causes awkward looks at McDonalds. Some important people thought the wisdom of this old adage might just do Jesus in, so he told a story.
