The Whole Truth

Faith and Fear

Hope Grows

(Chad Brekke) The familiar parables of Jesus are often used as morality plays, designed to modify our behavior. You should be like the Good Samaritan and help those in need. You should realize how good you have it before you run off and blow your money chasing the good life like the prodigal son. So today we will dig in some familiar soil, but we are in search of more than the moral of the story. We’re gonna keep digging until we find something new. Today we will look for hope to grow.

Grad Sunday

It's Grad Sunday and today's reading references how Adam and Eve felt naked and vulnerable after eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge. As our graduates transition to their new lives outside of high school, there may be times where they feel this nakedness. What advice is there for them?

Jesus' Plan

Faith Journey

(Brent Haglund) When we made promises to these students long ago, we were serious about seeing it through. Back then, they were unable to speak for themselves, and yet they heard the promise of being "sealed with the Holy Spirit and marked with the cross of Christ, forever." Today, a piece of that promise has been honored. Now, we get to hear their words as they respond to that promise, and we take the next step in faith together.

Inside Out

(Chad Brekke) Our churches are built to create at least the impression of good order. We arrive for worship at different times, in different moods, states of health, dress, and general appearance. The worship space quickly places us in perfect rows, all facing the same direction, even saying or singing the same words. But what about a church scattered about in the parking lot? What are we learning about the nature of the church? Is this really something new?

Why Not Me?
